Well a week has already zipped by after the Dwell mini eco festival and I think we've finally recovered and got the shop clean and back in order after a frantic month of sewing, screen printing and last minute preparations for Dwell. We had a fantastic day. Dwell was more successful than we could have imagined, the markets were heaving, the fashion show went off without a hitch and the forum following was interesting and thought-provoking.
We hope that you all had a good time but also that the underlying them of sustainability shone through with style and possibility.
All of these amazing things could not have happened without the support, donations and love of our friends and families.
So, we have a whole bunch of people to thank...
Our media sponsor Peppermint
Community partners fourthchild, Green Label Design, Swich Community Art Space, One Colour and Biztopia.
Elders and the owners of 199 for allowing us the space to Dwell
Top of Town friends Cactus Espresso Bar, Province Modern Country and Art Time Supplies for the loan of space, staff and seats.
Stallholders who trusted the vision and kept us laughing all day.
Body Bare for making our models even more gorgeous
MC Phil Parker for lending his cool and making us legit
Forum speakers Amanda Robertson, Nicki McKay, Di Stitt and Peter Wolff
Greg Harm for his amazing photography
Carissa Griggs for shop-sitting
Cassie Booth...for everything under the sun!
Team Story for their sound and lighting prowess
Team Chisholm for helping shed light
The Sunset Markets team
Designers who trusted us with their precious garments...One Colour, Twisted Retro, Middlemost, Pollen, Diana Maloney, Scarlett Menagerie and Cassandra's Closet.
The models who worked for hugs.
The seven creative ladies who put their skills to the test and entered our UPcycled Wedding Dress Competition.
And most importantly our families who have tolerated our increasingly mental behavior over the last few months.
If you haven't seen it already there is a fantastic slideshow of the market and runway show over at Tangible Media.
Thanks to you all for coming along, for checking in here and for your continued support of quality, eco-aware handmade products and ideas.
